Folly Arboretum and Winery

To elaborate, the arboretum is located on top of the hill between Badacsonyörs and Ábrahámhegy, offering a wonderful view of Lake Balaton from the lookout point in the garden. At the winery, you can sample the most exquisite local wines. But feel free to bring your little ones, as they will love it too: an educational trail winds through the pine museum, shaded by trees, and an exciting playground can also be found in the garden.

Badacsony Nature Trail: Along the 4 km long nature trail, you can also see amazing basalt towers and rock seas, and guided tours are also available.

Kisfaludy Lookout Tower: The spectacularly shaped, 437-meter-high lookout tower is the “crown” of Badacsony, where you will experience a breathtaking, 360-degree panorama. 3 hiking trails lead to the lookout, and several fire pits and resting places also await visitors.

Ábrahámhegy Panoramic Viewpoint: From the viewpoint on top of Bökk Hill, a fantastic panoramic view unfolds before hikers in clear weather, and signs inform you exactly what you are seeing. It’s free, open all year round, and another advantage is that it’s accessible by car if you don’t feel like walking.

Pláne Badacsony Wine Terrace, Badacsony: A youthful yet tradition-preserving wine bar, where a superb view accompanies the tasting of a wide selection of wines.

Borbély Family Winery, Badacsonytomaj: You can participate in a guided wine tasting next to a quiet, picturesque vineyard terrace, where, upon request, warm food is also offered alongside fresh, barrel-aged wines.

Salföldi major, Salföld: A true Puszta atmosphere awaits you at the farm, where you can primarily see indigenous Hungarian farm animals. The playground and petting zoo also provide entertainment for the little ones. It is located approximately 10 km from Badacsony, in the beautiful region of the Káli Basin.

Ecotourism Visitor Center, Badacsonylábdihegy: At the foot of Badacsony, you’ll find a very interactive, child-friendly, and exciting visitor center, where many programs help keep the little ones engaged. For example: a tour around the mountain with various stations; guided canoe tours; interactive guided tours (a great program even in bad weather!); craft workshops – and much more.

Festetics Palace, Keszthely: This perhaps needs no introduction; suffice it to say that it’s one of the country’s largest and most beautiful castles, which everyone should discover in person at least once! You can reach it by car from Badacsony in 15-20 minutes.

Africa Museum, Balatonederics: A tiny piece of exotic Africa by Lake Balaton? Well, why not. Besides the Maasai huts dotting the mini safari park, you’ll find zebras, ostriches, antelopes, and camels, among others, and an ethnographic exhibition also awaits.

József Egry Memorial Museum, Badacsony: Painter József Egry was a devotee of Lake Balaton; the museum is housed in his former villa, where you can view his major works, which captured the water (among other things). His art is truly incomparable; he was a unique figure with unique creations.
